My first appointment today is a man, early 50’s, divorced, educated, self employed, and his long term goal is to find the right lady to share the rest of his life.
I said “Does that include marriage?”
He said “Probably not, but never say never. I thought I would never get married a second time so what do I know? I do know I don’t want to be divorced again.”

He has two kids he is very proud of and they are very much a part of his life.
He said “My kids aren’t kids anymore, they are young adults. They have both graduated college and are doing great. They also have a good relationship with their mother and we all get along just fine.”

He enjoys tennis, golf, hiking, cooking, good wine, music, concerts, traveling, and reading.
He said “I am in a great place to meet someone special. I have the time, and the resources to relax, enjoy, and have some fun. There are so many things I want to do but I don’t want to do them alone. I want to take some trips and definitely don’t want to do that alone.”
I said “Where do you want to go?”
He said “December is a great time to go to the Caribbean. I finally went to Italy but I went with the wrong lady and the trip was a disaster. I have always wanted to do a redo to Italy with the right lady.”

He said “Donna, if you find my perfect match, I will give you a $5000 bonus.”
I said “It’s been awhile since I have had a ‘bonus’ guy.”
I explained how perspective clients, usually men, have offered me a bonus over the years and even when I did find the right person, the bonus never materialized.
I said “Now I have this handy dandy little bonus coupon we can both sign and date.”
I actually did make a coupon and he is the first one to sign it. It makes the whole “bonus” thing a little more fun.

Happy Halloween! I am leaving early to go to Trish and Mark’s annual Halloween party. My daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons will be there along with several other families. Trish and Mark have fabulous Halloween parties with tons of decorations, food, and a garage they turn into a haunted house. This is the fifth or sixth year I have gone, and we all go trick or treating in a group. It is as much fun for the adults as the kids and many of the adults also have on costumes. My daughter is trying to talk me into going as a Zombie. My 11 year old grandson got on the phone and said “Come on Grandma, we are all going to be Zombie’s and you could be the Zombie grandma.” An offer I can’t refuse.
