Last week was a busy at Perfectly Matched. This time of year is generally very busy because many people are already thinking about the holidays.
I am catching up on my diaries for last week in this entry.

My first appointment is a man, late 40’s, divorced, educated, and his long term goal is marriage.

He said “There was a time when I thought I would never want to be married again but now I think I would want to marry if I can find the right lady.”
I said “What changed your mind?”
He said “The first few years I was divorced I was a little shell shocked by what my divorce cost me but I enjoyed being married. After a couple of long term relationships I realized I am probably the marrying kind.”

He enjoys reading, traveling, hiking with his dog, music, the symphony, the arts, and he is very into American Indian history and the southwest.
He said “Taos is one of my favorite places to visit. I like going through the art and bookstores and there are several restaurants that are favorites of mine.”

His family is very much a part of his life and he enjoys spending time with his children. In fact, it was his daughter who suggested he give me a call.
He said “I have terrific kids and they would love to see me happy with the right lady.”

According to his scores from the profile test, he is very easy going, an “8” on a scale of “0” to “10”. His scores also say he is somewhat out going, a bit traditional, affectionate, romantic, independent, a fairly strong believer and very budget minded.
I said “And that is the type of lady you will be most compatible with, someone as much like yourself as possible.”
He said “Sounds good to me, sign me up.’

My next appointment is a lady, mid 30’s, ABS (always been single), a teacher, highly educated, her long term goal is marriage and children.

She was raised in Colorado Springs and is happy to be back after having been gone for several years.
She said “I wanted to be around for my parents as they get older and Colorado Springs is the place I want to raise my children.”

She loves volleyball and usually plays on a team. She runs half marathons and is training for one now. She enjoys hiking, live music, loves the theater, and likes to travel.

She said “I grew up seeing your ads and when a came back and saw you were still in business I knew I would be calling you eventually. It is time for me to make this part of my life a priority and I am ready.”
I said “And that is one of the best things about Perfectly Matched, you will meet serious minded men who also want to be married and have a family.”

She is 90% sure she will be a new client but she is going to take the weekend to think about it and get back to me.

My next appointment is a lady, early 60’s, educated, divorced, a nurse, and her long term goal is marriage. She moved to Colorado Springs a year and a half ago and plans to stay here.

She said “I have gotten into biking since I moved here and I love it!” She joined a group that plans biking trips all over Colorado and she has done trips as long as 70 miles in one day.
She practices yoga, does a lot of volunteer work, likes the symphony, art openings, and loves the opera.

I matched her right away and she called me with her feedback on her first meeting today. She has a great sense of humor which came in very handy when she met her first match. I asked her what she thought of him physically and she laughed.
She said “I thought he was a homeless man. His hair was disheveled, his shirt was not clean and he definitely did not make an effort to put his best foot forward. We agreed to meet for a hike and bring our dogs. He has a great dog and his dog was cleaner than he was.”
I said “I am surprised. I have never heard that kind of feedback on him from other matches.”
She said “I said to him all the things I just told you and he apologized. He said he was hung over but he didn’t want to miss the meeting. I told him he was lucky I liked his dog and I did give him some credit for not cancelling the meeting.”
They ended up doing a three hour hike with their dogs and she is interested in seeing him again.
She said “I think he sobered up on the hike and we had a great time.”

Good for her for being so open minded and it did not hurt that he is also an avid biker.

My next appointment is a lady, early 50’s, widowed, educated, and her long term goal is marriage.

She lives in the southeast part of Denver and when she called I asked her why she was calling a dating service in Colorado Springs.
She said “I have two girlfriends and we are all single and looking. We tried the online services and decided they were not for us so we started looking at dating websites for a matchmaker and we liked yours. They decided I would be the guinea pig and call you first.”

She is a professional, has a great job that she loves, and a teenager who is a terrific kid and her first priority.
She said “Anyone who likes kids will like mine. I love kids and I want to meet a man who also has a heart for children. I don’t care how many kids he has and I would hope he would have a good relationship with his kids too.”

She enjoys golf, skiing, tennis, Pilates, theater, and has Broadway season tickets. She loves to travel and has been to many places in Europe and the Caribbean. She is a strong believer and it is important that a man believes in God but it is not important that he goes to church. She likes bigger guys who are athletic.

I have at least one match that I know will be fine with where she lives. I am going to make phone calls to the other men who are matches for her and see if they are open to the distance. She is going to report to her girlfriends and we are going to talk this week.

My next appointment is a man, mid 60’s, divorced, educated, and his long term goal is a monogamous relationship. He is open to where it might go for long term.
He said “I can see myself in just about any long term situation, living together, maintaining separate residences, even marriage. I think much of it depends on the lady I meet and what she wants.”

He is about to retire and has more time for his personal life.
He said “I am looking for a better way to meet the right woman. A friend of mine married a lady you introduced to him and they have been very happy together for many years. Otherwise, calling a dating service would probably be the last thing I would do.’

He wants to find a lady who is also retired, or at least has the flexibility to travel. His plan is to buy a super nice RV and travel.
He said “I have worked very hard and now I want to relax, have fun, and find the love of my life to share all the adventures.”
He is a competitive golfer on the senior circuit and someone who likes to golf would also be a plus. His other interests include running, hiking, cooking, exercising, dancing, and spectator sports. If the Broncos go to the Super Bowl he plans to be there.

His age preference is 52 to 62 and I have some great matches for him.

I have three appointments and two “be backs” already scheduled for this week and I look forward to another busy week.
The weather is suppose to turn colder tomorrow with the possibility for snow this week which will hopefully inspire other people to think about how nice it would be to cuddle up with someone. How about you?
