Donna's Daily Diary - January 14, 2010

Wednesday I spent most of the day matching. It’s a new year and everyone is looking for a new beginning with a new person, at least everyone at Perfectly Matched.

I matched a couple two years ago and when they met it just didn’t click for either of them. Two years later they reconnect at First Thursday at the Ritz a couple of months ago and they are spending time together, enjoying each other’s company and having fun. Timing is everything! They are both in better places today to begin a new relationship than they were two years ago. They have very compatible scores, many common interests and, similar long term goals. They also have a better basis of comparison from meeting others in the past two years to know when it feels right.

I had to give the “teeth” talk again today. As I have mentioned before, most people notice teeth more than any other physical aspect. It is so easy today to have nice looking teeth. Many people can achieve great results with over-the-counter products, like Crest Strips. If you are single and dating, look in the mirror and smile! What do you see? Attractive teeth can make you look younger and healthier, two very nice things. The man I had the “teeth talk” with is in his mid 50’s. I told him that it had come back to me in feedback from a couple of matches that his smile would be so much brighter if he whitened his teeth. He laughed and said I didn’t have to try to be so tactful, just tell him to go whiten his teeth. I said “Go whiten your teeth.” Done.

Today, Thursday, my first appointment is a lady, mid 40’s, tall, thin, divorced, and her long term goal is a serious relationship and possibly marriage. She said “I am a one woman man.” I said “What do you mean by “one woman man?” She said “I only want one man for the rest of my life and I want a man who only wants one woman for the rest of his life.” I said “I think that’s what most people want.” She said “Oh no, oh no, men always want more than one woman, no matter what they say.” I immediately know a lot about her relationship history. I said “You know you can be honest and faithful to one man. Don’t you believe there is a man out there who can be honest and faithful to you?” She said “I would really love to believe that is true.” I said “If you believe it is, it is.” So much of falling in love is believing that you will.

I did new radio commercials today which air on 92.9 and 106.3. 15 second commercials, unbelievable! They used to be 60 seconds, then 30 seconds and now 15 seconds. You would be surprised how much you can say in 15 seconds. My Wall Graffiti ads (yes, the ads on the restroom walls) are going to be changed in the next few days to feature the Available Singles and Donna’s Daily Diary on my new website. 2010 is off to a great start.

I have two appointments tomorrow that I am excited about. They both sound like great quality people who are emotionally available and ready to make their personal lives a priority. He is mid 50’s, she is early 40’s.
