Donna's Daily Diary - January 21, 2010

My first appointment is a very sweet young lady in her late 20’s, divorced, a teacher (my largest group of professional women are teachers) and her long term goal is marriage. She is unsure about having children. She dated the man she married for three years and was absolutely, positively sure he was the person she would spend the rest of her life with and raise a family. The marriage lasted less than a year and by the time it ended she realized she did not know him, never mind, love him. She feels she is ready to date but is afraid to trust her own judgment and does not want to make another mistake. She said “We started trying to have a child right away because that was the plan and we were ready.” When she did not get pregnant in the first few months they went for some tests. They found out he was sterile and everything changed. She wanted to consider adoption or other options but he was not interested. Then he stopped being interested in her. They tried counseling but ultimately decided to divorce. He did not want her to settle for not being able to have her own children and she could not convince him that he was more important to her than having children. It is not hard to understand why she is unsure of having children but I think meeting the right man could make that decision easier. She is physically active, fit and, leads a healthy lifestyle. She loves to snowboard, plays the guitar, enjoys hiking, the arts and, concerts. She is about to close on a house and excited about decorating and landscaping her new home. She said “I thought maybe I should wait to buy a home but I decided not to wait on the important things anymore and if the right man comes along I can always make adjustments.” I have a ton of matches for her and it will be fun to help her get back out there and meet some great men.

My second appointment told me on the phone that he already knew he wanted to join Perfectly Matched before he even came in for the interview. He had read everything on my webpage and even listened to the radio shows I did over a year ago. He said he was ready to “shop and compare” when he decided to try a dating service but he did not find another service where he could work one on one with a professional Matchmaker who has my track record. He interviewed with a couple of services in Denver and told me I should raise my prices. I said “OK, I’ll start with you.” Just kidding. He’s a very match able fellow and I am happy to have him as a new client. He is very tall, mid 30’s, ABS, and, his long term goal is marriage and children. He is educated and well on track with his career and ready to make his personal life a priority. Both his brother and sister are divorced so he was looking for a more effective way to find the right person and his sister sent him to my website. Thanks, Sis!
