return to donna's diary
Donna's Daily Diary - January 27, 2010
My first appointment today is a lady, late 40’s, divorced, grown children and a child in elementary school. She looks much younger than her age and her age preference for a man is 36 to 49. Here we go again…a cougar. That population is growing AND they say the same thing older men have always said when I ask them why they won’t date up to at least their own age, “I wouldn’t find him attractive and he couldn’t keep up with me.” I say the same thing I have said to men for 22 years, “What if you did (find him attractive) and, what if he can (keep up with you?)” This lady is a “10” in temperament, on a scale of zero to “10”. You cannot be more easy going than a “10” and in all the thousands of people I have tested in over twenty years this is only the second person who has tested a “10” in temperament. She said “What does that mean?” I said “It means you are very compassionate and kind hearted. You really care about other people. People come to you to confide in you and talk to you all the time, like Dear Abby. You very seldom, if ever, “blow up” and, if you do, you are in control then as you are at all times. You don’t usually worry about what is said, you consider the source and you don’t like to be critical of other people. You always try to be very tactful and diplomatic.” She had no idea how I could know so much about her in just two minutes. I said “It’s your scores, they tell me so much about you.” I told her if we worked together I would like her to approach each of these men with the question “Ask not if you are right for them. Ask rather how they are right for you.” It was like a light went off for her “what a concept.” She said “I would like to think about this and get back to you tomorrow. Can I do that?” I said “I don’t hard sell and you definitely have a “think about it” score. She is also a “4” in finance which means she is very budget minded. One of the first things I said to her in the interview was “You are very easy going unless someone messes with your money.” She was very surprised that I knew that about her based on just the “scores”. A “10” in temperament and a “4” in finance, pretty obvious to me. She is a sweetheart and I think she will be new client soon.
My second appointment today is a lady in her late 60’s, widowed, petite, with a fabulous sense of humor. I told her I have “maybe” two matches for her. She said “That’s two more than I had before I walked through your door.” I offered her less matches than my regular programs because of her age and she is now a new client. She has been reading Donna’s Daily Diary and mentioned the couple I have been writing about for the last few months, he is 79 and she is 84 and they are crazy about each other.
She said “I believe you when you say there is someone for everyone and if you can match her, you can match me.” I said “If you think I can, I can.” She said “I like that there is no time frame on your service because longevity runs in my family and at just 68. I feel like the odds are in my favor.” Again, if you think they are, they are. She is absolutely adorable and I am committed to helping her find the lucky man who gets to spend the rest of his life with her.
To be continued tomorrow……………………
