Donna's Daily Diary - February 18, 2010
I was watching the Olympics last night when Lindsey Vonn won the gold medal. Shortly after her emotional interview a man approached her and she began sobbing in his arms. I did not know at the time who he was and as he continued to comfort her, compliment and assure her of what a great job she had done, she began to cry more. He knew exactly when to say “stop crying, this is wonderful, you did great.” Until she kissed him I thought “Is he her friend, her brother, her coach?” Someone told me he is her husband, her coach and he is 12 years older than her. I am fascinated by how people interact with each other and I thought that was an unexpected, very tender moment in the Olympics. It’s what everyone wants, someone there at the right time, saying all the right things, comforting, complimenting, supporting and feeling safe in their arms. Calgon take me away!
My first appointment today is a “be back”. A lady I interviewed a couple of weeks ago decided to come back. She is late 50’s, very tall, very thin, self employed and lives about two hours south of Colorado Springs. She runs a family owned company, loves her job and where she lives. She is very open to my suggestions and said “I am going to trust your judgment.” Her age preference for a man is 45 to 58. The first man I matched her with is 70. He is fit, active, tall, attractive, successful, classy and a great guy. I know the attraction has to be there and has to be mutual. I think it could be. It is definitely worth an hour of time to meet him and decide. At the very least, she might end up with a new friend and at the very most…who knows? This is another way men and women are becoming more alike, older women don’t want to date in their own age range anymore. I am not sure who is going to date all us old folks when us old folks don’t want to date each other. We will be a population of cougars and old geezers. Age is the least important thing if you find each other attractive and you can keep up with each other. Why limit yourself?
I have two interesting sounding people coming in tomorrow and, it’s Friday. I love to match, match, match on Fridays.
To be continued tomorrow……………….
