Donna's Daily Diary - October 23, 2009

Friday is the day of the week I always make the most matches. People like to look forward to meeting someone on the weekends. I made 12 matches today which means 24 people will meet sometime soon, people who would probably never would have met had they not come to Perfectly Matched. Hint, hint!

My first interview today is a late 40’s recently divorced man with one child. He is 6’, trim and, has brown hair and all of it. When I make a match I always share whether or not a man is bald, shaves his head, has a receding hairline or, has all his hair but, the ladies almost always laugh the first time I say “he has brown hair and all of it.” This man has the majority of the physical custody of this child. I work with a number of single Dads who are the primary parent. I dislike the term “custodial” parent. Whether the primary parent is the father or the mother, their issues and challenges are the same. I love that his age preference goes up to 52, with no prodding from me. He says he loves to dance. Men NEVER say they love to dance unless they really do. I am looking forward to helping him “get back out there.”

My second appointment is a man I worked with eight years ago. He was “off the wall” then and, he is now. It is not very often you will met someone who is a .5 ( that’s point 5, not 5) in conformity (on a scale of 0 – 10) and a 9 in affection. He is in his early 40’s, ABS (always been single) and very possibly one of the funniest people I have ever met. He has a very close, big family and he is always there for them. He has a heart of gold. He’s financially stable and secure, very secure, and, he would love to find the right lady to share his life. He is totally irreverent on one hand and, very much a gentleman on the other hand. I told him I wouldn’t retire until I found his life partner. He said “When do you plan to retire?” I said , “Never.” He said, “Then there’s hope for both of us.”
