Donna's Daily Diary - December 1, 2009
My first appointment today is a client coming in to reconnect and become an active client again. She has been dating a man she met on her own and the relationship lasted about seven months. She ended the relationship because he has anger issues. She had seen hints of it before but final straw was an incident that occurred when she was a passenger in his car. He was driving very aggressively, weaving in and out of traffic, following too closely and she found herself holding onto her seat and trying not to appear to anxious. However, at one point she thought they were going to crash into the car in front of them and she let out a scream. He turned to her and very loudly and angrily said “Don’t you EVER do that again. You almost caused me to have an accident.” She said she had never had anyone yell at her that way but more than his tone, it was the look on his face. Eyes bulging with pure anger all over his face. When he dropped her off she knew she would never see him again. She called him and told him she thought he had anger issues. He totally disagreed and got very angry. The end.
My second appointment today is a really great guy. He is in his mid 40’s, divorced, one kid in college and another in high school. He is an attorney but he switched careers several years ago and has his own business in addition to still working part time as an attorney. He said he got tired of “living in the courthouse” and he is much happier with his life now. His long term goal is a serious long term relationship and he is open to marriage. He is an avid reader and is currently reading three books. He is physically active but he is not looking for a female jock. He ended a relationship several months ago and is not meeting any ladies he is interested in on his own. He has seen my wall ads and decided to try a more professional approach. I shared information with him on nine possible matches and he thought they all sounded great. When I finished reading him the “ideal relationship” one of the ladies had written and he said “That’s it! Sign me up!” She will be his first match.
My third appointment today is an equally great guy. He is in his early 40’s, ABS (always been single) and, his long term goal is marriage and definitely children. This is the man your mother would want you to marry. Very tall, good looking, highly educated, a military officer with plans to retire in three years. He is politically involved and sees himself running for public office at some point. He is close to all of his family and feels it would be important to raise children in a faith. He is open to almost any main stream faith. He has a terrific sense of humor and is very quick witted. He loves to eat and cook and enjoys good food and wine. He has traveled all over the world and still has an interest to travel. He is physically active but he is not looking to do something physical every weekend. He loves to get dressed up and he appreciates a woman who has style and class and takes care of herself. And, if she can sing, she can steal his heart. I spoke with him about five ladies and he is looking forward to meeting them. He said the things he notices when he first meets someone are their “smile, hands and toes.” He feels if they take care of those three things, they take care of everything else. “Toes”, that’s a new one.
