Donna's Daily Diary - December 10, 2009
I just spoke with the 79 year young man I matched with the 84 year young woman in September and he says he is in love with her. Awwww. He has lived in Colorado Springs for 25 years and he has two grown daughters in other states. One of his daughters always asks him if he likes living in Colorado Springs and he always tells her he is “content”. She says “What does that mean?” and he says “Just that, I am content.” He called her yesterday and said “I am happy and I am in love.” Surprise, surprise. She was thrilled! He still does not know how old this lady is and he does not care. He said “Whatever age she is, she can run circles around me.” Imagine being in your late 70’s or mid 80’s and falling in love. It’s never too late.
My daughter just called to tell me they had the ultra sound a few minutes ago and she is having another boy. My oldest daughter has two boys and my youngest daughter has one boy and is expecting in May. This means I will have four grandsons. Everyone thought I wanted it to be a girl but another boy is great. Two daughters and four grandsons. Priceless.
My first appointment today is a man in his early 50’s, widowed and divorced, grown kids, self employed with a very successful business and his long term goal is a committed relationship, possibly marriage or living together. He was widowed in his first marriage of over 20 years. He waited two years before he started dating then he met a lady on the internet who lives out of state. They managed to see each other every month for nine months. She always came here and stayed with him and finally she agreed to let him come visit her. She had a nice home, a nice daughter, nice friends. He did not like that her two cats walked wherever they wanted, including the counter tops, the kitchen and dining room tables, the bed and, the couch. At dinner the second night she told him she could not invest anymore time in the relationship unless he was ready to make a commitment. She was willing to move to Colorado, with her two cats, if he was ready to marry her. He agreed. Two months later they had a huge wedding, she moved to Colorado with her two cats and it lasted three months. He said she changed once they were married and she was not at all the person he thought she was. It had nothing to do with the cats. He actually trained them to stay off the counter tops and tables and became fond of them. Many thousands of dollars and one year later he feels like he is ready to start dating again but he doesn’t trust his own judgment and he doesn’t want to make another mistake. His secretary’s sister met her husband through Perfectly Matched and she encouraged him to call me. He said “I go to a professional for every other important part of my life, why not this?” Why not indeed.
To be continued tomorrow……………………………..
