Donna's Daily Diary - December 30, 2009

Tomorrow is New Year’s eve, the holidays will be officially over and we can all get back to our normal lives. There is also going to be a full moon tomorrow night to add to the festivities! Be safe and careful if you are going to be out and about.

I actually had two appointments yesterday and I have been booking appointments for Saturday and into next week. It seems like people are ready to start the New Year a little earlier than usual this year when it comes to their personal lives.

My first appointment yesterday is a young lady, early 40’s, ABS (always been single), educated and her long term goal is marriage. She is a teacher, my largest group of professional women are teachers. I told her “Men love teachers and nurses, the caretakers and nurturers.” She said “I do love taking care of someone but it has never been reciprocated.” She asked me if there was any way the “scores” from the profile test could indicate if a man has nurturing and caretaking tendencies. I said “If a person, man or woman, has an easy going temperament score and an average or higher affection score they would be more likely to have those qualities.” She said “Please focus on that when you match me.” Her sister tells her she is too wimpy when it comes to men, that she needs to stand up for herself and stop being such a giver. I told her she just needs to be herself and find someone who appreciates and respects her instead of taking advantage of her kind nature. She said, “I agree with YOU.” She was in her late 30’s when she married and based on what she shared with me, the marriage was short but not sweet. She feels like she is ready to “get back out there” and she heard one of my radio commercials which stated “It only takes one right one and I do all the work.” She said she likes the idea that I choose for her and for him and it’s based on more than just physical attraction…which, of course, has to be there but only takes you so far. I have some great matches for her and one of them is a male nurse.

My second appointment is a man, early 40’s, divorced, has a Master’s degree and his long term goal is marriage and children. His only marriage was over 15 years ago and it was brief but he has always wanted to be married and have a family. He has been reading Donna’s Daily Diary and noticed how many women I have mentioned who want to be married and have a family. This man has mentored kids most of his life, starting when he was just 12 years old. He has a true heart for children and would make a great father. He is also a strong believer and plans to remain celibate until he is married. I told him the lady whom would be most compatible with him would think that is a great idea. AND, he loves to dance!

I spoke with the lady who is on hold with the 79 year old man. It has been three months now and she called to thank me for her early Christmas present, him. They are getting along great and they have made it through the first three crucial months where many new relationships end. They both had some personality tests they had done previously and they shared them with each other. She said when she finished reading his she told him “no surprises here, it sounds just like you.” He said “Ditto”. She said “After all, we don’t want this to just be based on physical attraction.” She is 84 and he is 79…God bless them.

This will be my last diary for 2009. Saturday, January 2, 2010, begins my New Year at Perfectly Matched and I am very excited about 2010 being one of my best ever as I start on my 20th year! WOW! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
